Bromley Football Club
KEY FACTS
As part of the Club’s 125 year anniversary celebrations, Bromley Football Club is investing in the redevelopment of its South Stand and the installation of a new state-of-the-art 3G stadium pitch at Hayes Lane.
Planning permission has been achieved for the scheme. The new South Stand has been designed with the potential for up to 1,450 additional seats and will also be home to a large indoor community hub, which by working in partnership with other local community groups and enterprises will help increase the usability of the football club for the benefit of the entire borough of Bromley and beyond.
TPI (now part of Motion) undertook a full transport analysis to feed into the overall design of the football ground including access for the improved car parking arrangements. A Transport Statement and Draft Travel Plan were prepared to support a planning application. The transport input for the planning submission considered public transport accessibility, servicing requirements and car / cycle parking. The Transport Statement provided justification that the scheme complied with current planning policy as well as including details on pedestrian demands and car parking accumulation for the new facility. The assessment showed that future transport demands could be accommodated within the existing transport infrastructure. The Draft Travel Plan set out measures for the club to employ to reduce car demand, particularly on match days to minimise impact on the local highway network. TPI liaised with both Bromley Council and Transport for London to agree satisfactory transport infrastructure to support the proposed development.
