Planting for a shared greener future

The mission to help tackle the impact of global warming continues apace, as Motion celebrates its latest initiative to fund the planting of native tree species across the UK.

The company has teamed up with Ecologi, the B-Corp climate action platform, to support the planting of birch, oak and rowan saplings.  As they grow, the plants will not only help to balance carbon emissions, but also enhance biodiversity, restore vital ecosystems and provide volunteering, employment and recreational opportunities for local people.

Motion currently funds the planting of several hundred trees each quarter.  According to Director Rob Monie, “Planting trees is one of the most effective nature-based approaches we can take to deal with the climate crisis head on.  It is a win-win-win solution that will benefit people, local communities and wildlife and, above all, the planet.”

Sustainable action

Ecologi members support the highest quality climate solutions around the world, from planting trees through trusted reforestation partners, to backing a wide range of verified carbon avoidance projects.

To date, the collective action of its community of individuals and businesses has resulted in funding for the planting of over 60.9 million trees – more than enough to cover an area the size of Manhattan one and a half times – and has avoided 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
