Boost to Thames Valley property development sector
Land owners and planning consultants in the Thames Valley can now benefit from an enhanced service from local transport planning consultants, Motion. John Russell has taken up a new role as Regional Director within the company’s Reading-based team.
Managing Director Phil Bell has welcomed the move. “In John Russell, we have a professional with unlimited enthusiasm to help bring our clients’ schemes to fruition. John is an effective problem solver and, with his track record, will be a tremendous asset to the team.”
John has almost three decades of engineering consultancy experience and has provided transport and highway advice for projects through all stages of the planning process. He also enjoys a sound reputation for expert witness support at public inquiries.
“Having worked for several years in the Thames Valley, I am acutely aware of the region’s constraints, the growing demand for additional housing, and the need to plan future transport infrastructure to support new developments,” John explains.
He will join Associate Director, Chris Saunders, at the Reading office. Chris previously worked in local government for nearly 25 years. He held senior roles at Reading Borough Council, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and Buckinghamshire County Council. Chris continues to enjoy a good working relationship with highway authorities across the Thames Valley.
Motion Associate Lizzie Stunt has also relocated to Reading. She has a keen interest in delivering sustainable proposals to help minimise the environmental impact of development schemes. The team is also ably supported by Transport Planner, Calum McGoff.
