Siemens Manchester Campus
KEY FACTS
Siemens is undergoing a phased redevelopment of its landmark Manchester campus which accommodates nearly 1,000 staff. The mixed-use development will deliver a hospital, new homes and a business park alongside the refurbished headquarters of Sir William Siemen House.
Motion was commissioned to produce a travel management strategy to address reduction of on-site car parking for resident staff, the on-site training facility and visitors in line with site redevelopment programme.
Staff numbers, working practices, parking demands and corporate culture were considered to understand opportunities and constraints – we did this by organising a Staff Engagement Event, forming a Travel Working Group, devising a site-wide travel survey and liaising with Transport for Greater Manchester. Detailed analysis indicated which elements of existing and potential travel patterns and needs should be taken forward in the site-wide parking policy. A concise, comprehensive policy document was produced in collaboration with Travel Working Group.
